After the beauty pageant sparked intense debates over alleged discrimination, with people online claiming that contestant Chidimma Adetshina (23) is Nigerian and therefore should not represent South Africa, she has today announced her withdrawal from the competition via her social media platforms.
"I would like to start by thanking everyone who has stood by me since the beginning of my Miss South Africa journey. I am deeply grateful for the love and support I have received.
Being a part of Miss South Africa 2024 has been an incredible journey. However, after deep reflection,
I have made the difficult decision to withdraw from the competition for the safety and well-being of my family and myself. With the support of the Miss South Africa organization, I am leaving with a heart full of gratitude for this amazing experience."
